My husband works where it requires more than 45 hours a week. Most weeks, it’s 60, even the calls can be expected anytime. He also has a business trips that lasts about 4 to 5 months out of the year.
You know what else makes for a long day?
Being solo with your kid from sunrise to sunset. Day in and day out. It’s just me and my daughter for atleast 11 to 12 hours each day and when your baby starts crawling and messing up with the things it becomes more difficult. I am watching my baby transforming into a toddler.
Mothers whose husband works long hours, I feel you. I understand how hard it is. We aren’t single moms — not even close. But there’s definitely a burden to run the home 24/7.
I do most of the things alone – a lot like you, i guess. Parenting solo 90% of the time is really exhausting, isn’t it?
Me and my Husband communicate with calls and text during the day, since I’m asleep when he leaves and, once he’s home, he’s too tired. I miss casually talking. So much of our life has come down to logistics.
This is not a complaint. It’s just how things are. I know that my husband is working so hard for us .I appreciate his sacrifice. But it doesn’t come without sacrifice.
Home is a dream for me now where i used to chill, relax and use to spend my alone time as well, home is now equivalent to work – intense, demanding, round the clock work. And it’s the hardest work of my life, not only physically but psychologically.
Our work may seem like menial work but balancing life at home and taking care of kid also has its value. The value is not connected to money but importance is just the same, we should always appreciate each others work. The best part is after working for so long hours and being so tired my husband will always have time for his kids and family.
When things are not same or you feel tough, always remember, our husbands are working hard, we’re working hard, and together, we make a great team. A team that does the hard stuff, a team that’s always united for same cause.
We may work solo on a daily basis, but we are not alone. That is the greatest blessing of all — we can do this!
